Reed and I were work associates from different parts of the state. Then his son married my niece, and we called each other 'cuz' from that time forward when we attended the same work meeting. I appreciated his friendship and thrilled when I heard of his mission to Argentina. We will miss him and pray the Lord's comforting Spirit will bless his entire family at this time.
From Kelly and Jan Kidd:

From Robert Blakeslee:
Dear Coleen and wonderful family. What a blessed opportunity to be dear friends with all of you over the many years as neighbors. It was a great privilege for me to look out my window to watch the Pickup family in action. Reed was my dearest friend for all those years and we had many opportunities to work and play together in 4-H, scouting, church service, and family get-togethers. Your loss is huge but your family is strong and we know that Family’s are Forever. Hope to see you all soon.

Every time I was around Bro. Pickup he had is catching smile. With a laugh that was always there to follow. My prayers are with your family. May you feel the comfort from our Savior, Jesus Christ through the atonement. That burden may be light. I love your kids so much as I drove them all. Then I went on to the grandkids. He left a great prosperity. Deb
From Heidi Malby (Hyytinen):
I'm sorry to hear about this loss. He was only 20 days younger than me. Growing up together I should have known that. His parents were our bus drivers growing up. K thru 12. I loved them. Prayers to the family.
From Otto and Judy Huffman :
Coleen, we are so sorry to hear this sad news. Reed's WW11 veteran father drew a 1949 homestead just a short distance from Otto's folks. His family attended K through 12 in the Tulelake school system. Otto has fond memories of attending school, playing sports and participating in many 4-H activities with him and his family. After graduation, Reed and Coleen started their own family together and farmed his father's 80 acres before moving on. He was such a great man who loved his wife and children with a passion. We lost contact with him after he moved to Burley but I'm sure he had that same love and passion for his grandchildren as well. Our condolences to all of you. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear about Brother Pickup. He was such a good man, he helped me so much when I served in the Paul Stake and we had full confidence in his work. He truly in my eyes, is a true disciple of Christ. He had his priorities in order. I pray that his family can be comforted through this hard trial, but remember, he is preparing a place for you now, so that you can always be a family forever. May God bless you all.
From Leon and Dori Clegg:
I am so very sorry to hear this news. Reed was such a giant of a man. Really got to know him when he was working as the area supervisor of maintenence for the church. He really helped me in my calling in church maintenence for my stake. We really got to talk and to know each other. We also were able to serve in the Spanish branch. He was so excited when he and his wife recieved their mission call. He had such a strong testimony of the gospel. I so loved getting to know about him and his family. Our sincere condolences to each of his family. The memories for his family will be precious til we all meet again. All our love!
