BURLEY – Bridgette Jo Draper, 42, of Burley, passed away Thursday, February 8, 2024, at her home in Burley.

Bridgette was born May 16, 1981, in Twin Falls, Idaho, to Barbara Higgins and Gordon Vibbert. They lived and raised her in an old farmhouse outside of Rupert.

Bridgette spent her early years being a farm kid doing things such as playing with her sister, Amber, on irrigation day, making mud pies, helping gather eggs from the chicken coop, and picking asparagus down the ditch. Later she attended schools in Rupert, Eagle, and Burley. Soon after starting school in burley, she met her best friend, Kristy. Their misspent youth developed a deeply-bonded sisterhood.

She really enjoyed the outdoors, sitting in the morning sun with a cup of coffee, weeding, mowing, and landscaping. Bridgette especially liked camping with her family and friends. Also, spending time fishing, target shooting, and getting the four-wheelers muddy.

Bridgette had a few jobs over the years. She worked security for J.R. Simplot, cashiered in various places, was a business partner for a local restaurant with Josh Draper, and even tried her hand at welding. Although she has had several jobs with different titles, her favorite has always been Mom; recently added to that was Grandma, and caregiver.

She cared for so many along the way. Animals, and people alike always had a meal and a warm place to stay.

Bridgette passed peacefully in her sleep, in a home filled with zest, comfort, and love. She was surrounded by her vigilant and protective pets; they stood watch as her energy shifted from this earthy bond to her heavenly plain.

With open arms departed family members stand ready to welcome her home including her grandparents, Susan and Thomas Higgins, and Hannah and Raymond Vibbert; her aunt, Pat; and her dad, Gordon.

Those of us to carry on include her mother, Barbara Higgins, Bridgette’s children, Cody (Sonya) Owens, Caleb Draper (Josh Draper), and Tanner Johnson (Mike Johnson); two granddaughters; her sister, Amber (Loren) Walker; niece, Sydney (Troy) Korb; two great-nieces; one great-nephew; aunts, uncles, cousins, and honorary additions, Kristy Yarbrough, Cher’re Eddings, Bobbie Tolman, Josh Draper, Mike Johnson, and so many more that Bridgette has met along her journey.

Bridgette has been a significant impact on so many people with her crazy zest, comfort, humor, and love.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, February 19, Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Family and friends will be received from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service.

From Charlotte:
Bridgette had soooo much unconditional love for her boys, plus her family and friends. She always made sure everyone was doing good. All I can say is the Lord must of needed her due to her spitfire. He ended up with an amazing lady who will get er done! Lots of prayers to the boys and the rest of the family!
From Ryan Bielby:
Been her friend for quite awhile, gonna miss her quick wit and ornery fire, the boys need her, but the Lord needed her more. Time and unforseen occurance befall us all the Bible says, doesn't make it hurt less for those of us left here. Rest in peace bridgette and watch over your sons from up high, miss and love you lady.
