BURLEY – Sharlene Climer, 79, of Burley, Idaho, passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her loved ones, Monday, July 27, 2026.
Sharlene was born in Rupert, Idaho, to Jessie LaMar Bronson and Leta Virginia Jones along with her identical twin sister, Sherry. They were brought home to View, Idaho, where they were raised with their older sister, DelJeanne and brothers, Ray and Reuben.
Sharlene graduated from Burley High School in 1964. During her senior year, she worked at the Orpheum Theatre and Burley Drive-In with her twin sister, Sherry. She loved working there and made lots of lifetime friends, including her future brother-in-law, Larry Woolstenhulme. After high school, she attended Idaho State University for a year.
While at ISU she was introduced to Brent Stauffer in June of 1965 and they were married that September. In their 15 years of marriage, Sharlene and Brent had six beautiful children, John, Kristian, Stephanie, Nicole, Jennifer and Elizabeth.
In August of 1983, after meeting at an LDS singles dance, she married the love of her life, Marvin Lee Climer. Together, they blended households, which included Marvin’s three children from a previous marriage, Audra, Jeannie, and Corey.
Sharlene and Marvin raised their family in Twin Falls, Idaho. Together, they worked hard and gave their children lots of fun activities and many precarious road trips across the country that they are amazed to have all survived, as Sharlene was a licensed backseat driver. Because of Sharlene’s love for church history there was never a family roadtrip that did not include a church historical site.
Sharlene was a very hardworking, dedicated employee. She was the office coordinator at Idaho State Police in Twin Falls for 14 years and then served as the office manager for the Buhl Police Department from which she retired after 16 years. She was an entrepreneur and had her own catering business. She also often worked alongside Marvin at their business, M&S Construction.
Sharlene had a beautiful singing voice and a great love of music. She, Sherry, Ray, and Reuben started their family band, The Bronsons, and sang at every given opportunity. They created quite a name for themselves and played at dances, weddings, funerals, and special events. They continued singing together until the death of Sherry, who was also her lifelong best friend and womb mate. She possessed an enduring passion for knowledge and a profound love for all aspects of history; an avid reader, she also dedicated herself to the lifelong study of the Spanish language, in which she was fluent.
Sharlene had a tremendous love of Jesus Christ and His Gospel. She was an active, devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in many callings, including service in the Meridian Idaho Temple, as a Relief Society president, and as an LDS Addiction Recovery Service Missionary along with Marvin. She had an enormous love for family history and could recall names, dates, and stories of her ancestors and made those family members come alive for her loved ones. After her retirement she joined the Daughters of Utah Pioneers and loved getting together with the ladies to discuss and learn about her heritage.
Sharlene had an immense love for her family and friends and if you were within her sphere you felt her love. She never missed an opportunity to tell everyone how she loved them. Sharlene filled her life with love and service to others. She was a doer and a giver. She always came to the rescue of family and friends who needed help with anything. If something needed fixed she would make sure Marvin tagged along to help get things done. The last few years of her twin sister’s life, Sharlene and Marvin moved out to her original childhood homestead in View to live next door to Sherry.
After a debilitating fight with ALS, Sharlene succumbed to this awful disease. Up until her passing, Sharlene had been being cared for at her home 24/7 by loving daughters, a granddaughter and a grandson-in-law. She was given the best possible care and was given many tender loving mercies and blessings, which included keeping a soft whisper of a voice.
Sharlene was preceded in death by her parents, LaMar and Leta Bronson; husband, Marvin; sister, DelJeanne Garrett (Sam); and twin-sister, Sherry (Larry) Woolstenhulme.
Sharlene is survived by her nine children, John Stauffer of Boise, Kristian Stauffer (Haylee) of Arizona, Stephanie Nelson (Brett) of Boise, Nicole Valle (Michael) of Japan, Jennifer McDonald of Boise, Elizabeth Stauffer of Burley, Audra Sellman of Minnesota, Jeanie Thomsen of Minnesota, and Corey Climer (Yukiko) of Japan; 26 grandchildren, Anastassia, Alexandra, Abbigail, Max, Khayman, Emery, Lorelei, Athena, Mira, Nicholas, Jonah, Andrew, Benjaman, Sofia, Gabriel, Noah, Colette, Carson, Johnathan, Isabella, Jordon, Robyn, Jacob, Kyle, Marc and Marika; 17 great-grandchildren; her brothers, Ray Bronson (Gale) and Reuben Bronson (Jeanne); and many nieces and nephews that she loved dearly.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, August 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - View 2nd Ward, located at 490 East 550 South, of Burley, with Bishop Clint Bronson officiating. Burial will be at Sunny Cedar Rest Cemetery in Almo.
Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, August 6, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, preceding the funeral, at the church.
