Date of Service: Jun. 13, 2026

Service Program

Barbara Mae Morrison, 89, passed away peacefully at her home in Bountiful, Utah on Sunday, June 7, 2026, with family by her side.

Barbara was born May 26, 1937, in Paul, Idaho, to Ira Weaver Coleman and Eva Mildred Rogers. Farm life taught her the value of work as she was “the oldest boy her dad had”. She spent her early childhood in Paul and moved to the big bend district in 1946, and in 1951, they bought a farm two miles south of Rupert, Idaho. She graduated from Rupert High School in 1955 and went to Twin Falls Business College, graduating in 1956. She worked for Catmull Plumbing in Rupert and Montgomery Ward in Pocatello as service department clerk. She later worked as a cook for the Davis County Public School system for 12 years. She met Larry Ray Morrison at a Saturday night Church dance in 1954. On December 21, 1956, they were married in the Idaho Falls Temple. They are the proud parents of four girls and four boys.

She enjoyed fishing, camping, sewing, crocheting and word puzzle solving. A favorite was spending the winter months in Yuma, Arizona, which was more favorable to her health and provided many social events to participate in.

Her sweet smile and warm personality opened the door to many friendships. Her greatest love was her family and she found happiness in family gatherings and reunions and remained devoted to those she cared about throughout her life.

She is survived by her husband, Larry Morrison of Bountiful, Utah; daughters, Carma Jean (Andrew Landen) of Saratoga Springs, Utah, Karen Ann (Chuck Simmons) of Rupert, Idaho, Marian Kay (Lindsay Henderson) of Thatcher, Utah, and Arlene Louise (Gary Dangerfield) of Clearfield, Utah; sons, Marvin Ray (Jodi) of Ogden, Utah, Darren Lynn (Phaedra) of Phoenix, Arizona, and Mark Ira (Michele) of Taylorsville, Utah; and brothers, William Darrell Coleman (Nelda) of Daleville, Alabama and Ronald Lynn Coleman of Hansen, Idaho.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Mildred Coleman; sisters, Shirley Ann Coleman, and Carol Jean Coleman; son, Larry Allen Morrison; and grandson, Steven Landen.

The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Val Verda 4th Ward, located at 2633 S. 50 W. Bountiful, Utah, with Bishop Jonathan Hanks officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church prior to the service, beginning at 11:30 a.m.

The interment will take place at 2 p.m. Monday, June 15, at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, Idaho.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.

We will miss our weekly greetings in the Yuma sacrament meetings as she reminded me she was from Rupert. Always pleasant and we usually noticed if she wasn’t there. Would have supported the services had we known soon enough. We learned of her passing on the 16 th. Hope to see you in Yuma Larry
From Maureen Robinson:
