MERIDIAN – On May 16, 2026, Carolyn Bowen Thompson, loving mother and grandmother, passed away at the age of 91 at Touchmark at Meadow Lake Village in Meridian, Idaho.

Carolyn was born October 25, 1934, in Salt Lake City, Utah. She was daughter of the late Leo Lund and Lois (Neff) Ralph. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Donnette Butler; first husband, Donald Manning; second husband, Franklin Bowen; and third husband, Fred Thompson.

Carolyn is survived by her children, Donald Scott Manning and Paula Marie Etter; grandchildren, Chad Kirk Woodland, Amie Jill Priest and Jesse Manning; great-grandchildren, Alex Raymond West, C Kaison Priest, and Jace Jeremy Priest; and great-great-granddaughter, Willow Lily Bender-Priest.

She earned a degree in Home Economics at Weber State College. She worked as the City Clerk in Burley, Idaho, for more than 30 years before retiring.

She enjoyed golfing, playing bridge, sewing, crocheting, and bird watching. She found some of her greatest joy spending time with her great-grandchildren and great-great-granddaughter.

Throughout her life she enjoyed traveling to many different states and countries. She had a particular fondness for places with a great beach and a view.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Pleasant View Cemetery, located at 1645 E. 16th Street, in Burley, where Carolyn will be laid to rest next to her third husband, Fred Thompson.

Family and friends will be received from 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley.
