BURLEY – Donna Rae Chandler Anderson passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the age of 88. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister.

Donna was born on February 10, 1938, in Wendell, Idaho, to Farren James and Ivy Christensen Chandler. She had one older brother, Rulon, and three more siblings would follow Donna - Jay, Lola, and Wayne. Donna spent most of her growing up years in Wendell, Idaho, where the family had a farm and dairy. Her family worked hard on the dairy and farm, but also found time to go camping, skiing, and attend church functions. Donna graduated from Wendell High School in May of 1955 and headed off to Moscow, Idaho, that fall to attend the University of Idaho.

It was while attending college that she met the love of her life, Neil Anderson. They were married on April 10, 1956, in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After Neil finished college, they moved to Twin Falls for a short time but ended up moving to Burley. They purchased a home and farm west of Burley and lived the remainder of their lives there. Five children were born into this loving family.

The most important things in Donna’s life were her husband and family. She enjoyed making a pleasant home for her family and Donna was a skilled homemaker. She loved to cook, sew clothes for her family and raise a garden. Donna loved family history and genealogy. She planned many reunions for family and extended family. Music was also a big part of her life. Donna and Neil sang for many weddings, funerals, and activities. Donna led the Star Ward choir for many years and sang with other singing groups. Donna and Neil also had a passion for ballroom dancing and helped organize many dance events.

Donna was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings in the Primary, Relief Society, and Sunday School. She loved to spend time in the temple and served as a temple worker in the Twin Falls Idaho Temple for many years. Neil and Donna served three church missions - Arizona Flagstaff, Australia Perth, and Illinois Nauvoo missions.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Neil Anderson; one daughter, SuAnne; two brothers, Rulon Chandler and Jay Chandler; her sister, Lola Little; and her parents, Farren and Ivy Chandler.

Donna is survived by her daughter, Lorana (Frank) Dye; her three sons, Kevin (Kasie) Anderson, Burton (Carol) Anderson, and Lonny (Dawn) Anderson; 21 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Star 1st Ward, located at 96 South 200 West, of Burley, with Bart Beck, second counselor in the bishopric officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, at the church.

She was such an amazing woman. Strong but so sweet and kind. We will miss her very much.
From Eileen A. Petersen:
Donna and I were childhood friends when we were neighbors in the country west of Wendell, Idaho, in the McBurney area. She was the Class of 1955 and I was the Class of 1957. Walt and Donna’s brother Rulon were best friends in the Class of 1952. Then we both lived in Burley where we raised our families. Condolences to Donna & Neil’s family. She was truly an Elect Lady. May the Savior’s love give you comfort in knowing because of His Atonement you are an eternal family. Love from the Walt & Eileen Petersen family.
From Lynnette O'Dell:
Donna was a wonderful woman. She was my ministering sister. She was always so thoughtful and kind. One of my favorite memories was when she and her loving partner, Linda Holt, took us, all the sisters she went to, to lunch. That meant so much to me. Being new to the ward it helped me to get to know more sisters.
Donna was a beautiful person inside and out and will be truly missed.
From Glenn and Susan Hunsaker :
