RUPERT - Leroy Victor DalSoglio, 94, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.
He was born on May 5, 1931, in Acequia, Idaho, and was raised in Jackson, Idaho, by his parents, Victor M. and Bernice Lilath (Badger) DalSoglio. Leroy graduated from Acequia High School in 1949 and attended Idaho State University before serving his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1960.
While stationed in Germany, Leroy met the love of his life, Frances (Franziska Semm). They were married in 1954 and returned to Rupert, where they built a home, a life, and a strong, loving family together.
Leroy worked for Badger Brothers before becoming a self-employed carpenter. He spent many years building and remodeling homes throughout the Mini-Cassia area, including the home where he raised his family. He enjoyed working with his hands and took great pride in everything he built.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and working in his yard and wood shop. Known for his creativity, he could build or repair nearly anything. He especially treasured time with his family and working at his sawmill. His family fondly remembers many shared moments, including the time his son Joe, mixed up the nails while helping build the family home.
Leroy was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. His faith was central to his life and was reflected in his kindness, hard work, and love for his family.
He is survived by his children, Dale (Dorily) DalSoglio, Joe (Barb) DalSoglio, Mike (Julie) DalSoglio, and Sandra (Karl) Clayville; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great blessing in his life.
He was welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife, Frances; his parents; his sister, Dora Brockie; his grandson, Shane; and his great-granddaughter, Betsy.
Leroy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, creativity, love of family, and the legacy he built with his own hands. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace, reunited with those he loved, and that his legacy of faith, hard work, and love will live on in all who knew him.
