RUPERT - Leroy Victor DalSoglio, 94, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 4, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born on May 5, 1931, in Acequia, Idaho, and was raised in Jackson, Idaho, by his parents, Victor M. and Bernice Lilath (Badger) DalSoglio. Leroy graduated from Acequia High School in 1949 and attended Idaho State University before serving his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954. He continued his service in the Army Reserves until 1960.

While stationed in Germany, Leroy met the love of his life, Frances (Franziska Semm). They were married in 1954 and returned to Rupert, where they built a home, a life, and a strong, loving family together.

Leroy worked for Badger Brothers before becoming a self-employed carpenter. He spent many years building and remodeling homes throughout the Mini-Cassia area, including the home where he raised his family. He enjoyed working with his hands and took great pride in everything he built.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, and working in his yard and wood shop. Known for his creativity, he could build or repair nearly anything. He especially treasured time with his family and working at his sawmill. His family fondly remembers many shared moments, including the time his son Joe, mixed up the nails while helping build the family home.

Leroy was a devoted member of the Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. His faith was central to his life and was reflected in his kindness, hard work, and love for his family.

He is survived by his children, Dale (Dorily) DalSoglio, Joe (Barb) DalSoglio, Mike (Julie) DalSoglio, and Sandra (Karl) Clayville; as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom were a great blessing in his life.

He was welcomed into heaven by his beloved wife, Frances; his parents; his sister, Dora Brockie; his grandson, Shane; and his great-granddaughter, Betsy.

Leroy will be remembered for his strong work ethic, creativity, love of family, and the legacy he built with his own hands. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His family finds comfort in knowing he is at peace, reunited with those he loved, and that his legacy of faith, hard work, and love will live on in all who knew him.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 802 F Street, in Rupert. The recitation of the rosary will be from 9:45 until 10:15 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10:15 until 10:45 a.m. Celebrating the Mass will be the Rev. Father Camilo Garcia. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery where military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.

From Karie Miller:
From Bob and Karie Miller;;
Leroy was the best, we are sorry about his passing, but he is with Frances now. He and Frances were good to visit and he shared rhubarb and peaches and Frances shared her wonderful desserts. He was an excellent wood worker and his little Chiristmas tree farm in town was special. He was a pleasant, kind, gentle man; well loved.
From Patsy Price:
Proud to call this man a cousin. Roy was an interesting and unique individual. Very talented! It was always fun for me to hear about his wood projects, what was growing in the garden, or family news. He will be remembered fondly. My sympathy goes out to his family.
From John and Sherie Thain:
Leroy was an incredible person, with incredible talent and unbelieveable work ethic. He was a key person in helping my dad build the buildings and all the cement work for our dairy. He was a master at carpentry and helped all our family on house projects and repairs. His work was impeccable. He was a perfectionist. He was a great friend to our family and will be missed. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

From Claudia & Jerry Meireis:
Leroy was one of those people you meet in life that amazes you with the ability they have to remodel your home and have it end up with exactly what you wanted. He worked for us several times and always ended up giving us a perfectly done job that we are still enjoying many years later. Our thoughts are with the family and should be sure that he is now with the one he loved on this earth.
From Karla Brockie:
