ODESSA, FL – Melody Boothe Strite, age 79, of Odessa, Florida, passed away peacefully at home on February 15, 2026.

She was born on October 12, 1946, in Burley, Idaho, to John Harrison Boothe and Janice Faye McDonald Boothe. She spent her childhood in Holden and Moses Lake, Washington, and later in Portland, Oregon. Melody attended Cleveland High School and graduated from West Linn High School in 1964.

Melody married Charles Leo Hatch, with whom she had seven children, and later divorced. She went on to become the sales manager at Jones Sports Company in Portland, Oregon. She later married Dan Strite, and together they made their home in Warrenton, Oregon. After Dan’s passing, Melody lived briefly in Smithfield, Utah, before spending the last four years in Odessa, Florida, with her daughter, Sara Malvar.

Melody found deep joy in serving in her many callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Guided by her strong faith and her desire to lift others, she also became a dedicated leader with Young Living Essential Oils. Her passion for wellness, her willingness to share her knowledge, and her compassionate heart touched countless lives. She will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of family, and her lifelong commitment to helping others find hope and healing.

Melody is survived by her children, Jonathon Charles Hatch of Smithfield, Utah, Cynthanie Hatch Rubus of Warrenton, Oregon, Chelsea Hatch Miller of Fort Collins, Colorado, Sara Hatch Malvar of Odessa, Florida, and David Charles Hatch of Portland, Oregon; she is also survived by her ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her brother, Barton Edwin Boothe of Smithfield, Utah, and her sister, Amy Boothe Green of Smithfield, Utah.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Strite; and her daughters, Melissa Hatch and Amy Hatch.

A graveside service will be held at 1p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2026, at Pleasant View Cemetery, located at 1645 East 16th street in Burley.

A viewing for family and friends will be held from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. prior to the graveside service at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley.

She will be deeply missed and forever loved.
