BURLEY - Neil Leon Anderson, an 89-year-old lifelong resident of Burley, returned to his Heavenly Father Monday, January 19, 2026, at Parke View Care & Rehabilitation Center in Burley.

Neil was born on March 12, 1936, (or 3 x 12 = 36, as he used to say) to Constant and Lucy Anderson. He was the oldest of two children born into this family. He grew up in Burley until World War II started. In the Winter of 1941, the family moved to Boise, Idaho, where Con went to Aircraft Maintenance School and later worked at Gowen Field.

The family moved back to Burley in the fall of 1945 after the war ended and began farming. From an early age, Neil worked on the farm with his Dad and younger brother, Lamont. After graduating from Burley High School in 1951, Neil attended the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho. It was here, while attending an Institute activity, that he met the love of his life, Donna Chandler. They were married for time and all eternity in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 10, 1956.

After graduating from college, Neil accepted a position as Civil Engineer for the city of Twin Falls, after a few years, they returned to Burley and Neil started his own surveying business. But his true love was farming and in 1969, Neil went back to farming with his father and brother, forming Triple A Farms.

Family was the most important thing in Neil’s life. He taught his children to work hard, be honest in their dealings, and take care of this beautiful world we live in. Neil loved animals, especially horses and his dog, riding motorcycles with his sons, and camping. He also had a beautiful singing voice and sang for many events with his wife, Donna. The couple also spent many hours dancing and teaching youth and adults to dance.

Neil was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was an example of faith and loved our Savior, Jesus Christ. He enjoyed serving those around him. He served in many capacities throughout his life including church missions to Arizona, Australia, and Nauvoo, Illinois.

Neil was preceded in death by his daughter, SuAnne; his parents; and his brother. Neil is survived by his loving wife, Donna; his four children, Lorana (Frank) Dye, Kevin (Kasie) Anderson, Burton (Carol) Anderson, Lonny (Dawn) Anderson; 21 grandchildren; 77 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren.

The funeral will be held at 12 Noon Saturday, January 31, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Star 1st Ward, located at 96 S. 200 W., of Burley, with Bishop Ryan Hobson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 30, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and Saturday at the church, one hour prior to the funeral.

So Sorry for your loss , he will be missed by many.
From Roger Price:
Neil is my 1st cousin, however due to the fact that he was 5 years older than me, I did not get to know him very well. I do know that his parents, Lue and Con were remarkable people and I have very fond memories of my many visits to their farm. I was a city boy and rode my first horse on their farm, southwest of Burley. Donna, our prayers are with you and the family. We love the Anderson family.
From Janelle Bakker (Hanks) :
Such a great man. Loved living just down the road from this amazing man. He was such a great example to all around him.
From Kaleb:
He was an amazing and great grandpa, always making fun jokes or stuff and just was nice seeing him and great grandma every summer as a kid.
From Marsheila Hodge:
I remember when...not always everything but I did enjoy hearing them sing and I seem to remember he had a gentle voice. May the heavens console you as you greave, and adjust to life again. Love to you all
From Inga McDowell :
I have only known Neil and Donna for a short 5 years but it feels like I have always known them. I grew to love them as my own family instantly where there was no need for any time for a connection to form. We have shared, laughed, cried, reminisced and prayed together. I am honored to have them occupy my heart eternally and look forward to a happy reunion. />I miss you already Neil! But I’ve been missing the real you for almost a year now with all this struggle of mortality.
