POCATELLO – JoeAnn Smith Quinn, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026, in Pocatello, Idaho.
JoeAnn was born on June 6, 1945, in Rupert, Idaho, and spent much of her life in Pocatello, where she built a life rooted in family, service, and community. She was married on August 13, 1965, to Eldon Quinn, and together they raised a family. They later divorced.
JoeAnn dedicated her early career to education, teaching 3rd and 5th grade at Tendoy and Bonneville Elementary in Pocatello, where she influenced and inspired countless young lives. She later went on to work as a research and development engineer at AMI Semiconductor manufacturer where she spent 30 years contributing her intelligence, dedication, and strong work ethic.
JoeAnn was known for her warm smile, generous spirit, and her ability to make everyone feel welcome. She found joy in life’s simple moments and took great pride in caring for those she loved. Her kindness and quiet strength left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Lee Smith; her mother, Minnie Mae “Pat” (Montgomery) Smith; her brother, Gary Smith; and her sister, Patrea Searle.
She is survived by her loving children, Doug Quinn, Melanie Harrison (Rodney), Brandon Quinn (Cheryl), Erin Quinn (Tina), and Travis Quinn (Autumn); her sisters, Karen Fida (Carlos) and Sydnee Quigley; along with 19 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 16, at Rupert Cemetery, located at 450 N. Meridian Rd., in Rupert. Family and friends will be received from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the graveside service at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley.
