Sep. 17, 1955 - Nov. 7, 2025
BURLEY – It is with heavy hearts that the family of Alice Baker announces her passing on November 7, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Alice was born on September 17, 1955, in Pharr, Texas. Her parents were Cedindo Nava and Emma Cobio; she was the second oldest of 13 siblings.
Alice lived in many states including (not in order), Texas, Utah, Colorado, Washington, Arizona, Nebraska, and Idaho. The last place she resided was in Burley, Idaho.
Alice’s first husband was Ramos Truijilo; her second husband was George Roy Herrera, with whom she had five children; and her last husband was John Jack Baker.
When Alice married George Roy Herrera, she gained four step-children, Michelle (Fred Guevera), Janelle Herrera, Gina Messing, and Jenniece Herrera. Along with their children (Issac, Melissa, Antonio, Monica, Angelique, Johnny, Veronica, Victoria, Valerie, Joshua, Andrew, Marcaleno, and Vanessa.)
Eight years later, Alice started her own family with George Roy Herrera. To this marriage were born Roy Herrera, Linda (Oscar John), Connie (Mike Lynch), Sarah (Justin Kossman), Priscilla (Joshua Charley). Alice’s grandchildren were Erica, Angelica, Natasha, Kevin, Isaiah, Sabrina, Priscilla, Angel, Xavier, Sydni, Isabel, and Jeremiah.
Alice’s great-grandchildren were Hennessy, Israel, Lorenzo, Allison, Jenesis, Mateo, Gianni, Amari, and Amaya. Her love only grew stronger for her great-grandchildren.
Alice loved her family dearly; she was the type of mom and grandmother who would do anything for her children and grandchildren. She always went above and beyond for each and every single one of them. Alice had a heart of gold and was one of the strongest women any of us knew. She was a sweetheart who would always uplift her family.
Alice became a Christian in 1982, with her husband George Roy Herrera. She had a love for God that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. She saw many miracles in her lifetime and felt the love of Jesus with her.
Alice was with George Roy Herrera for about 28 years until he passed in 2002. They had an amazing life together with their children.
A year later after George passed, Alice then remarried to John Jack Baker. They were together for 15 years and had a wonderful marriage until he passed away in 2017.
Alice passed in her beautiful home where her two previous husbands had passed and where her children and grandchildren were raised. It was her wish to pass in her own bed surrounded by her loving family and she got her wish.
We all will remember Alice as a Godly, kind, loving, nurturing, selfless, courageous, strong, beautiful woman. Alice always put her family first and had a sense of humor like no other. She enjoyed worshiping God, buffets, thrift store shopping, casinos, popping bubble wrap, telenovelas and visiting her family whenever she could. Alice was an amazing cook and will always be remembered for the best flour tortillas. Alice was an amazing homemaker and we can all pray we could be half the woman she was. No amount of words can express just how great of a woman Alice was.
Alice is now dancing on the streets of gold in Heaven. She will suffer no more and will be rejoicing with God. We will miss her kind soul and are internally thankful that God gave us such an amazing soul on this earth.
Cremation arrangements for Alice have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
