NAMPA – Roberto Vaquera, a 63-year-old resident of Nampa, formerly of Declo, passed away Friday, September 26, 2025, at his home in Nampa.

Born on July 27, 1962, in McAllen, Texas, to Sebastian and Isabel Vaquera, Roberto served in the United States Marine Corps before dedicating his life to a career in civil service. His work was focused on serving the public, a commitment he maintained throughout his life. Roberto’s proudest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren, who survive him. He was especially proud that both of his boys followed in his footsteps and became United States Marines.

He is survived by his wife Melody, his children, Cody (Jordan) Vaquera, Cozette (Jake) Vanderwall, Jacob (Hailey) Vaquera, Whitney (Chris) Pollard, and Andrea Gustin; his grandchildren, Mason and Luci Pollard, Cambrianna Taylor, Annabelle Whiting, D’Artanyon and Esabel Vaquera; and his brother, Juan Vaquera. He is also survived by other family and lifelong friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sebastian and Isabel Vaquera; his brother, Sebastian Vaquera; and his nephew, Antonio Vaquera.

Roberto will be remembered for his willingness to help others whenever possible, offering support and assistance quietly and without expectation of recognition. His kindness and generosity made a positive difference in the lives of those around him.

The funeral service with military honors by the U.S. Marine Corps will be held at 12 Noon, Tuesday, October 7, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Family and friends will be received at the funeral home prior to the service from 10 until 11:45 a.m.

From Tara McClellan:
He was like a big brother to me. I have worked with Robert over the years fundraising and followed him to Extra Mile Arena. He did a lot to help us with our son who is a Marine as well and give guidance and direction. He was always willing to go the extra mile and help anyone out. He was so caring and sweet and always like to tease me and my girls and give me a bad time. That is what brothers do! I will miss him so much! God Bless you and may your family find peace and comfort.
