BURLEY – Gale LaMont Anderson, age 82, of Burley, passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at his home in Burley.

He was born November 22, 1942, in Boise, Idaho, the son of Constant Leon and Lucy Maude Price Anderson. He married Shirlene Afton Baker on July 7, 1964, in the Laie Hawaii Temple. They were blessed with four sons and one daughter.

Mont farmed throughout his life. He owned and operated trucks, and did custom hauling for Del Monte and others. He had his pilot’s license and enjoyed flying for many years. He loved hunting, fishing, and being in the mountains with family and friends.

He was a faithful member of The church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving a mission in Southern Australia. He served in many callings such as High Priest Group Leader, Scout Leader, Sunday School Teacher (adult and youth), and more.

Mont was known for his good sense of humor, teasing, and quick wit. He quietly served others his entire life. He loved his family and traveled many miles to support them in all of their activities. He was respected by friends and neighbors as an honest, quiet man, with much love for all who knew him, just like his dad.

He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirlene Afton Baker; one brother, Neil Leon Anderson (Donna) of Burley; his children and their spouses, Daryl Anderson (LeAnn) of Kennewick, Washington, Kirk Anderson (Staci) of Gilbert, Arizona, Brett Anderson (Tiffany) of Burley, and LaRinda Brady (Kale) of Evanston, Wyoming; 21 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and his adopted family, Linnet Mecham and girls, Tawnie, Shambry, (son, Alex), and Salina.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Delon; and three grandchildren, Alexis, Kirk Christian, and Ian.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Star 1st Ward, located at 96 S. 200 W., of Burley, with Bishop Ryan Hobson officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 5 until 7p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley, and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Shirlene and family im so sorry for your loss. We lived in your old home on the farm many years ago. I enjoyed feeding the calfs that the Mamas rejected. It was a great starter home. Tom Hanks and Kelly helped birth alot of calves that year. Our oldest son came home to that little house. Thanks for the great year. And our start in life.
