Donald Lars 'Pops' Rasmussen

Jul. 21, 1950 - Jun. 25, 2025

PAUL – Donald Lars “Pops” Rasmussen, a loving husband, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at the age of 74.

Don was born on Friday, July 21, 1950, in Idaho Falls, Idaho, the son of Eldon Vernon and Lorraine (Bingham) Rasmussen. He attended elementary and junior high school in Paul, and graduated from Minico High School. He continued his education at Ricks College in Rexburg, and received a bachelor’s degree from Weber State University in Ogden, Utah. He married Pasty Larsen and together they had two sons. They later divorced. In April of 1975, he married Colleen June Draper and they had three children.

He farmed north of Paul for many years and later took a position as a welder in Twin Falls – a profession he truly loved. He enjoyed snowmobiling, golfing, and riding his Can-Am Spyder. Don spent many hours enjoying the company of his children and extended family and friends. He was always there for each one.

Don is survived by his wife, Colleen; sons, Dana (Ging) Rasmussen, Dusty (Lisa) Rasmussen, and Darrin Rasmussen; daughters, Crystal (Ronnie) Thoren and Corie Rasmussen; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and his sister, Ila Van Leuven.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Darrell Rasmussen; one sister, Carol; a brother-in-law, Boyd Van Leuven; and his mother-in-law, Jessie Sutton.

At Don’s request there will be no service. However, he will always be remembered in our hearts.

Arrangements have been placed in the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
