BURLEY – Mary Gertrude Harmle, an 83-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Monday, May 5, 2025, at McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.
Mary was born in Erie, Pennsylvania on December 14, 1941, to Beulah M. Percival Harmle and Frank A. Harmle. She was the baby sister to her brother Edward L. Harmle and sister Katherine Harmle Kloecker. She was blessed with many nephews and nieces which she loved dearly.
Mary attended school and graduated from Villa Maria Academy in Erie Pennsylvania. Shortly after graduating she moved from Erie, to San Diego, California where she began her lifelong career in accounting at various automotive dealerships. She moved to Salt Lake City, Utah and later planted herself in Heyburn, Idaho to help care for her dear friend Gale Croft’s parents.
Mary was an active volunteer at Cassia Regional Hospital where she served at the information desk. She held many of the leadership roles in the volunteer organization. She was also honored as Volunteer of the year.
Mary never met a stranger. If you met her, you always had a connection in her life. She traveled and explored the country with one of her very best friends Gale Croft.
Mary leaves us here on earth for a joyous reunion with her parents, siblings and her dear friend Gale.
A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 16, at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, with the Reverend Brenda Sene officiating. A Celebration of Life potluck will be held directly following at M4C Church directly behind the cemetery. Friends may gather to exchange fond memories of her life.
