Maria de Jesus (Woodbury) Paget

BURLEY – Mary de Jesus (Woodbury) Paget, born Maria de Jesus Macias, on October 22, 1942, to Carmen and Paula Macias, passed away on May 3, 2025, at the age of 82, in Burley, Idaho, with her loving and devoted husband, Ronald Paget, by her side. Mary was the youngest of five children who grew up the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas. She graduated from San Benito High School in May 1962. Mary then went on and attended nursing school, graduating as an LPN in May 1964, from Texas Southmost College in Brownsville, Texas. She married Thomas G. Woodbury, in August 1978, a career soldier who took Mary all around the world as a proud and hardworking Army spouse, Mary remained married to Tom until his passing on May 24, 2009.

Mary remarried on July 23, 2012, to Ronald Paget. Mary and Ron embarked on a series of adventures traveling all over the United States. Mary often remarked she had gone and done things she never thought she would do, concerts, cruises and playing at the casinos.

Mary was the proud mother of two mischievous and rambunctious boys, Saint and Martin Woodbury, who filled her life with love, banter, laughter and five grandchildren. Mary enjoyed fishing, homemaking, and gardening. As a devout Catholic, Mary had a wonderful and magical way of nurturing those she crossed paths with. A simple snack and a blessing were her ways of making anyone feel at home. Mary, ever a matriarch, was fond of mentoring the mothers of her grandchildren, Kathy Sprague and Theresa Robeson.

Mary often remarked of how she was proud of the way Kathy had raised her daughter, Emma, and how Theresa, mother of Seth, Tommy and Tye, was always there for her and her grandchildren. Her favorite pastime in her later years was hearing from her grandchildren and watching movies while holding hands with her loving husband on a double recliner while glancing out on the snow-covered mountains of Idaho.

Mary is survived by her husband, Ronald Paget; son, Martin Woodbury; brother, Luis Macias; sister, Alice Montemayor; and grandchildren; Seth, Tommy, Tye, Emma; and her forever baby, Aliza Emmaline Woodbury, daughter of Martin Woodbury and Phuong Huynh. She was preceded in death by her firstborn son, Saint Woodbury; former husband, Thomas G. Woodbury; brother, Juan Macias; and sister, Sara Fonsec

A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
