TOOELE, UT – Robert Jay ‘Bob’ Poulton, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 71, on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.

Bob was born August 2, 1953, in Burley, Idaho, to Bill R. and Patricia Lee Ewell Poulton. Raised in Oakley, Idaho, Bob learned the importance of hard work while helping on the family ranch in Warm Creek, near Oakley, where his strong work ethic would stay with him throughout his life.

A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bob served in the California South Mission/California Anaheim Mission. On October 2, 1975, he married RoLane Baker, in the Logan Utah Temple. Together, they shared 49 years of love, support, and companionship.

Bob spent much of his life working the land. He spent a year ranching with his father and brother in Hells Canyon, followed by a year farming with his cousin, Ross, in Murtaugh. For 24 years, Bob worked for Larry Adams, where he became a skilled welder, built and maintained equipment, assisted with cattle, and helped with irrigation systems. He then spent 17 years working for Cranney Farms, continuing his passion for building and maintaining equipment and aiding with the beet harvest until his retirement. Bob’s unwavering dedication to his work allowed him to provide for his family and give them a life full of love and care.

After his retirement, Bob moved to Tooele, Utah, to be closer to his family. His greatest joy was being with them–he cherished attending his grandchildren’s games and activities, going on ATV rides, and traveling to new places with his children. Above all, Bob loved his family deeply. His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he was incredibly proud of the people they were becoming.

Bob will be remembered for his quiet strength and his commitment to his faith and family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, and he will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife, RoLane; children, Aileen Poulton of North Salt Lake, Utah, Deon (Cliff) Carling of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Devin (McKell) Poulton of Herndon, Virginia, Lynndi (McKay) Littlewood of Eagle Mountain, Utah, and Bill (Deena) Poulton of McKinnon, Wyoming; 15 grandchildren; and numerous extended family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cindy; his parents; his brother, Rex; and his sister, Jill.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Murtaugh Ward, located at 23709 Hwy. 30 Murtaugh, Idaho, where family and friends will be received from 10 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be held at 2 p.m. following the service at Oakley Cemetery.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley and a live webcast of the funeral service will be available and maintained at the following link: https://youtu.be/dXIgYjsMFaU.
