RUPERT – Eugene Wesley Miller ‘Wes’, a 91-year-old resident of Rupert, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2025, at the home of his daughter, Sandy Baker, in Burley.
Wes was born October 30, 1933, in Selfridge, North Dakota, the son of Rudolph and Freda (Fuhrman) Miller. He received his education in Meridian and Acequia, Idaho, graduating from the last graduating class of Acequia High School, the class of 1952. During his high school years he worked on the family farm. After graduation, Wes went to work for Reed and Ferrel Catmull Plumbing, which later became Kay Catmull Plumbing. He remained with the Catmulls for his entire career until he retired in 1995.
He married Joan Moon on April 2, 1954, in Rupert. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple on April 2, 1957.
Wes enjoyed sports, fishing, camping, golfing and wood working. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and he enjoyed serving in many callings including Sunday school presidency, Young Mens presidency, Ward Clerk, and baptism coordinator.
He is survived by his children, Beverly (Gary) Garner of Rupert, Candy (Wendell) Jones of Rupert, Sandy (Stanley) Baker of Burley, and Wesley Dee Miller (Thomas Sedlak) of Fresno, California; 12 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; a brother, Harvey Lee of Boise; sisters, Emma Jane (Duane) Deno of Rupert, and Loreen Kay (Jack) Parkin of Rupert; and sisters-in-law, Vera Miller of Oregon and Bona Miller of Boise.
He was preceded in death by his loving eternal companion, Joan Miller; a triplet son, Randy Eugene; his parents, Rudolph and Freda; brothers, Albert (Emma Jean) Miller, Walter Miller, and Don Miller; sisters, Anna (Bob) Catmull, Doris Miller and Kathlene Miller; and sister-in law, LaDean Miller.
We wish to thank Wes’ daughter, Sandy (Stan) Baker for the amazing love, comfort and care they gave to Dad for the last five months, as well as Enhabit Home Health & Hospice for their loving care of our dad.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received at the funeral home from 6 until 7 p.m. Friday, March 28, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Saturday, prior to the service.
