BURLEY – Farris Emery Carter, a 90-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at his home.
Farris was born in Oklahoma City, OK, to Louis and Orthy Carter. Farris was one of ten children, having four brothers and five sisters. His family moved to Shafter, California when he was five years old. In 1952, he married Dixie Lawrence. In 1954 they moved to Los Angeles where he worked in auto body. They moved to Idaho in 1994, where he worked with two of his brothers until he retired in 2002. Farris enjoyed fishing, old cars, and singing for the Lord and his family.
He is survived by his wife, Dixie; one son, Chuck, one daughter, Tina, his grandchildren, Laurie and Tiffany (Chuck), Kristina, (Rodney), Adam, Brandon, Joseph, Jordan, and Brianna, (Tina) as well as 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-children with two more on the way.
Farris was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Rodney; and four brothers; and two sisters.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 11, at the Rupert Assembly of God, located at 402 H Street, in Rupert. Burial will follow at Paul Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, March 10, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
