Service Program

Christin Ruth Hoard, “Sis,” age 27, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025.

She was born December 26, 1997, in Burley, Idaho, to Michael James Hoard and Lori Ann (Glorfield) Hoard. Christin graduated from Boise State University in 2021, where she was able to follow her dream of working with anything, and everything, nature related.

Christin was preceded in death by her father, Michael Hoard; and her best friend and brother, Brandon Hoard.

She is survived by her mother, Lori; siblings, Ryan, Hailey, and Whitney (Gage) Telleria; grandparents, Roland and Lynda Glorfield; uncles, Shane Glorfield and Jeff (Karen) Hoard; aunt, Debbie (Bob) Schmid; cousins, Landon, Kaylyn, and Kyra; and beloved extended family.

Christin loved being in nature and dreamed of one day being able to live as a nomad outdoors. She wanted to wander into the woods, take a dip in a lake, or spend weeks out in the desert. Unfortunately for Christin, a little thing called bills got in the way of her being able to fully drop everything, pick a direction, and go. She did not want to be tied down and never wanted to fall into a regular humdrum of life.

Christin lived life to the fullest. She simply refused not to. She showed those around her what it truly meant to live. Whether that was a spur-of-the-moment trip to the woods, playing music in the park, or destroying everyone on a bowling lane; Christin just wanted an experience. She chased the experience and brought countless friends along with her.

Christin always saw others as uncut gems, just in need of a little polishing. She brought people together and focused on the fun. She simply wanted her and her close ones to have an unforgettable existence, no matter the cost. But most importantly, Christin was a gem herself. It was hard not to laugh with her; her giggle was contagious, and one would find themselves in the most outrageous situations with her. She leaves us with a gift; our own special memories of our times with her.

Christin, may you find rest with our Lord and His Blessed Mother until we meet again.

Shine on Sis, shine on.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, located at 802 F Street, in Rupert, with the Reverend Father Camilo Garcia as celebrant. The recitation of the rosary will begin at 10:15 a.m. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery. Following the interment service a luncheon for family and friends will be served at the parish hall.

A funeral expense fund has been set up for Christin: https://gofund.me/81362dda

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.

From April Noriega:
Christin your vulnerability was a disarming superpower. Your ability to speak to others with transparency created a sense of belonging the world is all to often starved for. Your inner compass to honor truth and integrity at all costs was a testament to your dedication to a higher calling. Your embrace was warm and tender. Your focus on learning how to honor hearts will inspire me to the end of my days. You were a gift immeasurable to me in our short walk. Your voice in choir echos in my mind and spirit still. Thank you for the gift your presence for as long as you had the capacity to share it. You’re so loved and celebrated beautiful soul! Xoxo
