Melanie Fletcher

Sep. 20, 1958 - Dec. 28, 2024

HEYBURN – Melanie Kay Fletcher passed away Saturday, December 28, 2024, at her home in Heyburn, at the age of 66.

She was born September 20, 1958, in Burley, Idaho, the youngest child of Lew and Derlene Humphreys. Melanie attended grade school in Rupert and graduated from Burley High School in 1976.

Melanie worked in the office at Young’s Dairy during high school. After graduation, she worked for King’s corporate office. It was at this time she met and soon married Wesley “Wes” Fletcher. They were married on August 12, 1978. Wes and Melanie settled in Burley and raised their son, Nicholas “Nick” Fletcher.

Melanie worked at Klink’s Florist before working alongside Wes with their furniture business, W and M Woodworks. Melanie assisted Wes in building furniture, making deliveries and phone calls and keeping up with the business’s bookwork.

Melanie enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. She loved to go camping and RZR riding during the summer. Melanie also helped Wes in building a house in Arizona and greatly enjoyed spending the winter months there. Melanie loved being social and sharing laughs with those around her.

Melanie was a loving and devoted wife to Wes for 46 years. She was a wonderful mother to Nick and a caring grandmother to Camden, whom she loved spending time with.

Melanie is survived by her husband, Wes Fletcher; siblings, Chuck (Jackie) Humphreys, Debbie (Bill) Sorenson, and Cindy (Carl) Wilson; her son, Nick (Kelly) Fletcher; and grandson, Camden Fletcher. Melanie was preceded in death by her parents, Lew and Derlene Humphreys.

Thank you to Janet Anderson, her home nurse, as well as Dr. Michelle Meyers and the staff at Davita for the loving care they gave Melanie and the support they gave Wes.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Melanie’s name to the American Kidney Fund. www.kidneyfund.org.

The family will honor the life of Melanie privately, without holding a public service.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
