Service Program

HEYBURN – Fidencia Mendoza age 88, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away December 26, 2024, at home peacefully surrounded by her family.

She was born in Laredo, Texas on April 24, 1936, to Luis and Paula Moralez. Fidencia was the oldest of seven children. Spending most of her younger years helping raise her siblings while moving state to state to work the fields. She was the last to leave home. At the age of 25, Fidencia married her husband of 59 years, Pedro Mendoza II, in the year of 1961.

When it became time to build a family, the two decided to settle in Idaho. Fidencia was able to be a homemaker while the kids were young, as time went on and the kids grew up, she found a job at a bean factory in Hansen. In 1979 she decided to join Ore-Ida (McCains) and would work there in Burley until she retired.

Fidencia will always be remembered for her ability to care for others, and the way that she took others in. Helping raise 12 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren, she never complained. Fidencia was a devoted mother, who took a special joy in the chaos of her family. She will be dearly missed by many.

Fidencia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sister; and a grandson.

She is survived by her sisters, Estella, Rosa, Juanita, and her brother, Beto Moralez; her children, Rosa Ramirez, Pedro Mendoza III, Raul Mendoza, Bo Mendoza, and Blaze Mendoza; along with 10 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, January 3, at the Rupert Cemetery, located at 450 North Meridian in Rupert.

Family and friends will be received prior to the service from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley.

Our extreme condolences on the passing of our Tia Fide. We were fortunate enough to visited with her on Saturday, December 18th. It was incredible because she recognized us and had a good conversation with us. She was a wonderful woman and will be sorely missed. May she enjoy the rest of her time with Tio Pete.
