HEYBURN - Terry Gene Hamilton, age73, of Heyburn, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at home from natural causes.
Terry was born September 14, 1951, in Rupert, Idaho, to Gene and Rayola Hamilton; he was the second son out of five boys.
Terry was raised and spent most of his life in Heyburn. He married his childhood sweetheart, Pat O'Connell, in November of 1971. Pat brought her daughter, Monica, into this union and Terry legally adopted her, and soon after they had their daughter, Tina. Terry and Pat later divorced, and several years later he married Pamela Osterhout.
Terry had several different types of jobs throughout his lifetime, including working in the freezers at Simplot, Cleary Building Supply, Fisher Plumbing, and Idaho Milk Transport. He eventually had to retire early due to an old back injury. This allowed him to be able to take care of his mother, Rayola, at her home before she died, which was a huge blessing for his mom and Terry's family.
Terry was a friendly and outgoing person and had the ability to make friends easily. He tried to help his friends when he could. He enjoyed fishing, was an awesome gardener, was a Seattle Seahawks and Boise State football fan, and liked to spend time with his brothers.
Terry struggled with the disease of addiction his entire life and had several setbacks, but victories as well. He was proud that he was finally able to achieve some sobriety at the end of his life.
Terry is survived by his daughter, Monica Bair; and his daughter, Tina Stapleman; and her children, Anna Brown, Hailey (Ethan) Byers, and Emily Hamilton; six great-grandchildren; his brother, Mark Hamilton; sister-in-law, Joanne (Steve) Pearson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by both his parents; and his brothers, Doug, Paul, and Rodney.
A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2024, at the Rupert Assembly of God Church, located at 402 H street, in Rupert, with Pastor Dan Hendricks officiating.
Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, of Burley.
