Service Program

BURLEY – The Denver Broncos lost their #1 fan, Rodney Hamilton, age 61, on August 27, 2024, at University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Rodney was born the baby of five boys on April 4, 1963, in Burley, Idaho, to Gene and Rayola Hamilton. In November of 1980, Rodney left the small town of Heyburn, Idaho, and headed off to California for basic training to fulfill his dreams of joining the United States Marines; he was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. After serving three years he returned home and, shortly thereafter, met the love of his life, Kimberly Abner. Rodney and Kimberly were married on November 24, 1984; from this union were born two children, Trenton and Megan. This November they would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary. Rodney was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who worked hard every day for each one of them.

For many years, Rodney worked for Gary Jones Construction and was able to partially retire in 2020. He was a Jack of all trades, doing whatever, going wherever he was needed whether it was building, driving or doing mechanic work. In 2017, Rodney started driving truck for Idaho Milk Transport and was a dedicated driver for them until his last day.

Rodney is survived by his wife, Kimberly Hamilton; his son, Trenton Hamilton; his daughter, Megan Hamilton; his grandchildren, Rayden, Aarlie Anne, Lilliana, Carter, and soon-to-arrive, Declan Dean; his brothers, Terry Hamilton and Mark Hamilton; and his nieces and nephews. Rodney’s grandchildren were his pride and joy.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Rayola Hamilton; his oldest brother, Doug Hamilton and brother, Paul Hamilton.

Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, September 6, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Interment will take place at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
