RUPERT – Noel Wesley Craven, an 82-year-old resident of Torrance, California, formerly of Rupert, passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024, at his home.
Noel Wesley Craven was born June 4, 1942, to Leon Aubert and Ila Frances Watson Craven. He was the oldest of their three children. He spent his childhood in Rupert where he mowed lawns, rode his bicycle delivering the GRIT newspaper, and worked in his dad’s grocery store Foodland. He graduated from Minico High School in 1960.
Following high school, Noel attended and graduated from Idaho State University. He was a member of the Intercollegiate Knights and joined the ROTC. He spent six years in the Army, stationed in Korea and Germany.
After his discharge from the Army, he moved to California where he has lived and worked since.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Lyle. He is survived by his sister, Deon (Richard) Fassett; and his sister-in-law, Pat Craven; as well as several nieces, nephews; and great-nieces, and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 14, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley. Burial will follow in the Rupert Cemetery, where military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.
