Service Program

BURLEY – Neil D. Dille, a 75-year-old resident of Burley, passed away Thursday, June 27, 2024, at his home in Burley.

Neil was born in Wendell, Idaho, December 3, 1948, to Lewis and Edith Dille. He lived in Jerome for two-and-a-half years then moved to Burley in 1952. He attended grade schools in the southwest part of Burley and also Miller school. He graduated from Burley High in 1967. He attended Ricks College where he met his future wife, Brenda Bateman.

He then served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in California, serving with the Lamanites in Los Angeles. Returning home, he married Brenda on January 8, 1971, in the Idaho Falls Temple. He worked at Ore-Ida Foods until fall when he went to the LDS Business College in Salt Lake City. While in Salt Lake, besides attending school, he worked at various jobs including the printing department for the Church. He moved back to Burley in 1973, working various jobs until he started his own roofing business, selling and applying roofing products for Texas Refinery Corporation.

Neil held many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The one he enjoyed most was meetinghouse librarian. He enjoyed helping people. In later years his health would not let him do a lot.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda; and his five children, Angela (Gordon) Lynes of Kaysville, Utah, Christina (Troy) Faddis of Loa, Utah, MeriLee Slack of Grand Junction, Colorado, David Dille of Redmond, Washington, and Eric (Barbara) Dille of Pleasantview, Utah. He is also survived by his two brothers, Larry (Sandi) Dille of Tremonton, Utah, and Ron (Karen) Dille of Riverdale, Utah; and sister, LuRene Dille of Burley.

The funeral will be held at 12 Noon, Monday, July 15, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Burley 4th Ward, located 515 E. 16th St., in Burley, with Bishop Tyler Roe officiating. Family and friends will be received at the church from 10 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will be at Gem Memorial Gardens in Burley.
