He was born October 18, 1949, in Burley, Idaho, the son of Elmer and Dora Evelyn (Cooley) Lewis; he was one of 11 siblings. Ron served in the United States Army, traveling to many places including Japan, Germany, and Korea. During his time of service he was a mechanic and also was able to rodeo, riding bucking horses all across the world.

Ron had 12 grandkids and two great-grandkids.

Ron has worn many hats from ranch hand, cowboy, truck owner/operator, to mechanic. Ron worked the last 15 years for J&W Agricorp as both a driver and a mechanic. Everyone in the area also knew him as “Uncle Ron.” He loved horses, rodeos, all kids and his family and friends. Ron was also a long-time member of the Twin Falls County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gary and Jo Anna Hoskins; his daughter, Terry; many cousins, aunts, and uncles; and the love of his life, his wife, Sandy.

Ron leaves behind his daughter, Michelle Lynn – with grandkids, Lashelle, Lyndsi and Brennen, and great-grandkids, Ava and Landon; daughter, Shannon Lee – with grandkids, Andrew, Grayson, and Tristan; daughter, Ronnie Jo – with grandsons, Cole, Joel and Jaden; grandkids from Terry – Josey and Jacek; his brothers, Tom (Dotty) Lewis and Rex Lewis; in-laws, Earl and Nancy Stonebrink; much loved brothers and sisters-in-law; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.

From Gari Fields:
What a wonderful Memorial Service! When I think of Ron, I think of his dollar bills during mutton busting, his help during high school rodeo, a green dually pickup full of Lewis's, his always cocked hat, him laying on my office floor to take a rest from the trucking rat race, and most of all... just a genuine good hearted individual. Blessings to All of his family.

Uncle Ron, what a great guy. I loved to sit and listen to all the stories he had and great jokes he could tell. Ron has the biggest heart and would help any way he could without wanting anything in return. I love ya Uncle Ron and you will be missed by so many. I send my love and condolences to the family for their loss of a great man and a great friend to so many.

Ronnie Jo and family. Ron was a great guy. Always with a story to tell. We knew him back in his Sheriff's Posse days. I'll never forget when he and Bob Denton stopped a team of horses at the Western Days Parade that got away from the driver. They saved a lot of people that day. Prayers to you all through this difficult time. God Bless you all.
From Terry Ruby:
Ronnie, your dad was one of a kind. Tough when he needed to be and soft when he wanted to be. The only guy I knew that could drive down the road with a cup of coffee in one hand, telephone in the other and never miss a beat. He will be missed.
From Darla :
I'm so sorry for your loss Ronnie.
