BURLEY – Esperanza Pulido, 71, of Burley, passed away Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Parke View Rehabilitation & Care Center, in Burley.

She was born November 10, 1952, in O’Donnell, Texas, the daughter of Jose and Manuela Charles Hernandez. Shortly after her birth the family moved to California where Esperanza attended school and completed her education. She married Jose Pulido and they had three children, Monica, Jose, and Andy. They moved to Burley in 1976 and later divorced.

In 1978 Esperanza began her working career at Ore-Ida Foods in Burley and retired from McCain Foods in 2012.

Esperanza lived a simple but fulfilling life. She enjoyed word puzzles, playing cards, listening to music and watching sitcoms on television. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Monica Pulido, Jose Miguel Pulido, and Andy Pulido (wife, Martha); five grandchildren, Ezekiel Curiel, Zachariah Curiel, Nevaeh Pulido, Serentiy Pulido, and Natasha Marie Pulido; and four great-grandchildren, Aydriell, Aryelah, Aycen, and Xavier Curiel - with one great-grandchild on the way.

Esperanza was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters; a brother; and a grandson, Xavier Pulido - who died in an auto/pedestrian accident in 2017 at the age of 13.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Friday, January 26, and one hour prior to the funeral on Saturday. Officiating will be Pastor Rick Tundag.
