BURLEY – I am saddened to announce the death of our father, Mario Vega. He passed away peacefully at the age of 56, on Sunday, November 12, 2023, surrounded by family at his home in Burley.
Mario spent the last five years battling many health complications, but this year was the hardest. Open heart surgeries, toe and leg amputations, many infections, in and out of hospitals since the beginning of the year. I cannot put into words how tough he was and always did it with a smiling face and a beautiful outlook on life. Mario’s health complications ultimately lead to his death, the main one being end stage renal disease.
He was born in Tuinguitiro, Michoacan, Mexico to Jose and Filomena Vega; whom preceded him in death.
Mario is survived by his wife, Rosa; his children, Alicia (Sheldon) Amos, Beatris Gonzalez, Mario Vega Jr., and Jasmine Vega; 10 grandchildren; his brothers, Jesus, Leobardo, Agustin, Candido, Jorge, and Adan; his sisters, Belen, Serafina, and Maria Guadalupe; as well as countless nieces, nephews; and cousins whom he cherished every one of those relationships.
Dad is to be remembered for his endless love with Mexican food, more specifically tacos. And for his love of being on the road as a truck driver. Both went hand in hand as he traveled across the U.S. he would always try to find the best tacos in any area that he stopped in. His favorite past time was spent at home watching his favorite sports teams and being surrounded by family.
As per Mario’s wishes, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
Me entristece anunciar el fallecimiento de nuestro padre, Mario Vega. Falleció pacíficamente a la edad de 56 años, el domingo 12 de noviembre de 2023, rodeado de su familia en su casa de Burley. Mario pasó los últimos 5 años luchando contra muchas complicaciones de salud, pero este año fue el más difícil. Cirugías a corazón abierto, amputaciones de dedos de los pies y piernas, muchas infecciones, dentro y fuera de los hospitales desde principios de año. No puedo expresar con palabras lo duro que era y siempre lo hacía con una cara sonriente y una hermosa perspectiva de la vida. Las complicaciones de salud de Mario finalmente lo llevaron a la muerte, siendo la principal una enfermedad renal en etapa terminal.
Nació en Tuinguitiro, Michoacán, hijo de José y Filomena; a quien precede en la muerte.
A Mario le sobreviven su esposa, Rosa; sus hijos Alicia (Sheldon) Amos, Beatris González, Mario Vega Jr. y Jasmine Vega; 10 nietos; sus hermanos Jesús, Leobardo, Agustín, Cándido, Jorge y Adán; sus hermanas Belén, Serafina y María Guadalupe; innumerables sobrinas, sobrinos, y primos a quien apreciaba en cada una de esas relaciones.
Papá debe ser recordado por su amor infinito por la comida mexicana, más específicamente por los tacos. Y por su amor a estar en la carretera como camionero. Ambos iban de la mano, mientras viajaba por los estados unidos, siempre intentaba encontrar los mejores tacos en cualquier área en la que se detuviera. Su pasatiempo favorito lo pasaba en casa viendo a sus equipos deportivos favoritos y rodeado de su familia.
De acuerdo con los deseos de Mario, no se llevará a cabo ningún funeral o servicio conmemorativo.
