BURLEY –Penny Lyn Hershberger, age 58, passed away surrounded by family, after a stroke, at St. Lukes Hospital, in Boise, Idaho, Monday, June 5, 2023.

She was born February 10, 1965, to David and Nola Alley. She married the love of her life, Travis Hershberger, June 17, 1987.

Throughout all of her trials and tribulations, Penny always managed a positive attitude and did everything she could to make the best out of life for all of those around her. She loved serving in her many church callings including teaching Primary, and several years as a Cub Scout leader.
Penny enjoyed all things outdoors, especially fishing. Any time spent surrounded by family and friends was time well spent, especially time with the grandkids.

Penny was preceded in death by her mother, Nola Alley; and grandson, Owen Anderson.

Penny is survived by her husband, Travis Hershberger; father, David Alley; sister, Janet Maxwell; daughter, Jamie Anderson (Rick); son, Ty Hershberger; and grandchildren, Everett and Arya Anderson.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, June 12, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, where family and friends will be received from 9:30 until 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery.

Penny was an amazing friend. During our teens and twenties we were inseparable. She was always happy and ready for an adventure even if if it was a little risky. She cared for others both in words and deeds and I feel honored to have known her.
