Johnna Kathleen Behringer

Oct. 29, 1960 - Dec. 16, 2022

Date of Service: Dec. 29, 2022

HEYBURN – Johnna Kathleen Behringer, a 62-year-old resident of Heyburn, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello.

She was born to Laurence Charles Behringer and Yvonne Cherri Bevan in Las Vegas, Nevada, on October 29, 1960. Johnna’s parents and sister, Christine Berman preceded her in death. Johnna is survived by her brother, Bill (Robyn) Tatman; and many nieces and nephews.

Johnna was born with Down’s Syndrome and lived an extraordinary life. She grew up in California, Colorado, and Arizona, before moving to Idaho in 2010. Johnna began receiving developmental disability services in Burley, Idaho, from MDC Magic Valley in 2016. Prior to Johnna’s sister passing away, Johnna moved into Supported Living with MDC on February 7, 2018. She had a life of happiness and joy sharing a home with Joel and Michelle the past four years, her best friends and roommates.

Johnna was a spunky, sassy, fun, giggly, sensitive, joyful, coffee-drinking delight. She loved to watch the movie Footloose and the Golden Girls. She loved to dance, have her nails painted, her hair styled, drink her morning coffee, tease her staff and roommates, and make witty remarks when socializing. Johnna rarely ever called her staff by their correct names; she made up her own names for them. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered by all who had the honor of caring for her and being an everyday part of her life.

A visitation will be held from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday, December 29, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with a graveside service to follow at 11 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn.
