Dolores “Dolly” Vasil Brown Drew

BURLEY – Mrs. Dolores Vasil Brown Drew, age 82, of Burley, died Tuesday, July 9, 2013, at Highland Estates in Burley.

She was born on March 13, 1931, in Duquesne, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Vasil. She attended Holy Trinity Catholic School, then Duquesne High School where she graduated in 1949. She married Roy Brown in May 1956 in Pennsylvania, then moved to Burley later in 1956. They were later divorced. She married Richard L. Drew on April 19, 1982, at the St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, where she has been an active member for many years.
She has served as president, vice-president, and secretary of the Altar Society; a C.C.D. teacher for 30 years; a lector; chairman for the food booth at the Cassia county fair for more than 40 years; and she belonged to the Folk group. She did many things for the Altar Society as well as anything else she was asked to do by her church. Prior to the time of her death she was serving as the family affairs chairman and funeral chairman.

She belonged to the BPO Does serving as attendant, innerguard, first, senior, and junior counselor, and president for three years. She had perfect attendance and was named Doe of the year twice. She was always willing to help any committee that asked of her. She enjoyed going to conventions and never missed a district convention since she joined. She was able to attend two national conventions and served as the district secretary for one year.

She is survived by her daughter, Linda Brown of Burley; son, Leo Roy Brown of Rock Springs, WY; stepdaughter, Dawn Matlock of Seattle, WA; two step-sons, Edward Cahoon and Dewaine Drew; 11 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Kocheran of Duquesne, PA; two brothers, Michael and Andrew Vasil of West Mifflin, PA.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son, one grandson, four sisters and two brothers.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, July 12, at St. Therese Little Flower Catholic Church, 1401 Oakley Ave., in Burley, with the Rev. Father Julio Vicente as celebrant. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley.

Friends and family may call from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday prior to the funeral Mass.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen Funeral Home of Burley.
