BURLEY – Helen Olsen Seibold, a 74-year-old resident of Burley, left the challenges of this mortal world to join her eternal family on Thursday, December 6, 2024.

Helen was born February 24, 1950, to Lynn Frank and Beth Christiansen Olsen in Redding, California, where she spent her younger years. She was the fourth and final child born to the family, joining older siblings, Dale, Lois and Louise. After high school she ventured to Idaho to attend Ricks College, where she met and married Charles (Chick) Seibold in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple. They later divorced. They were the proud parents to Chris, Andrea, Travis, Corey and Cade.

Helen came from a musical family and loved to share her talent of singing, whether it was solo, or with a group she excelled and enjoyed sharing music with those around her. She had a love of cooking and was always engaged in preparing homemade candies and chocolates to give away during the holidays. Later in life, she attended culinary arts school at Idaho State University and was later employed as cooking instructor to inmates at the Pocatello Women’s Correctional Center. While living in Pocatello she helped care for her parents who lived in Preston, Idaho. After retirement she moved to Burley to be closer to her children.

Helen struggled with many challenges in her adult life from mental illness to losing two of her children. She had an unwavering testimony of Jesus Christ and His Gospel and is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Helen served in many church capacities during her life, but loved working and serving in the Young Women organization where she had a great influence on the young women she served.

She survived by her children, Chris (Shareé) Seibold of Burley, Corey (Kim) Seibold of Paul, and Cade Seibold of Nampa; 15 grandchildren; 7 1/2 great-grandchildren; and siblings, Dale (Mary) Olsen of Wasilla, Alaska, Louise Jones of El Dorado, Kansas, and Lois (Robert) Booth of Clovis, California.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; a daughter, Andrea Seibold Shannon; and son, Travis Seibold.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, where family and friends will be received from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.
