BURLEY – Suzette Starr (Gower) Wilde, age 67, passed away in Ogden, Utah, at McKay-Dee Hospital following a brief illness on Friday, May 22, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on January 31, 1959, in Pocatello, Idaho, Suzette was the daughter of James Russell and Venna Jean (Warren) Gower. She grew up in a vibrant family alongside her four siblings. Known for her infectious laugh, quick-witted sense of humor, deeply generous heart, and her “Suzi Hugs.” Suzette brought immense joy to everyone around her. She faced life with remarkable dignity, grace, and an unwavering love for her family and friends.
She graduated from Highland High School with the class of 1977. After high school she attended Salt Lake Barber College. She met her future partner in crime and best friend, Brian Lee Wilde. They were married in the Idaho Falls Idaho Temple on April 9, 1980. They began their married life in Pocatello while Brian finished college. She was able to move around Southeast Idaho where she made numerous friends along the way.
She enjoyed many hobbies but was not really great at any of them (her words). She had picked up golf over the last few years and had a great time golfing with Brian. She never cheated at golf, she just wouldn’t keep score.
Traveling and exploring was one of her greatest joys. Whether it was a beach, mountains, desert, or city, she loved finding new things to tell her family about. When she fell in love with a place, she would plan another vacation with the whole family.
Her family was her everything. She loved her children and especially her grandchildren, Kyler, Bryce, Brynlee, Madisyn and McCoy. She loved getting to know each of them individually and loved hearing about the adventures that they were having.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Brian Wilde; her daughters, Jamie Garvin and Jill (Levi) Lusk; her grandchildren; her siblings, Michael (Pamela) Gower, Marta (Steven) Teeples, and Jennifer (Gary) White; sisters-in-law, Gaylene (Kevin) Saunders and Kendra Wilde; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents; her brother, Kurt Gower; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Marion and Sheri Wilde; and brother-in-law, Brent Wilde.
If she knew you, she loved you.
