Born in Rupert, Idaho, on February 6, 1950, Dennis Louis Dickson passed away in Pocatello, Idaho, on May 17, 2026, following an automobile accident.
He attended Minico High School and lived in the Mini-Cassia area his entire life. He went on to attend Treasure Valley Community College and the University of Idaho. He began his career at Project Mutual Telephone Company, where he also served on the board of directors for many years. He later retired from Magic Valley Produce after 27 years, serving as Vice President of Sales.
In 1973, he married Karen Pates, and together they had two sons, Kris and Kelly. He later married Katina “Tina” Delis, and they shared more than 40 years together, blending their families and raising Dean, Jeff, and Krissy.
He served his community as a volunteer firefighter in Rupert and was also part of the ski patrol at Pomerelle. Tina often described him as a beautiful skier. He served on the Idaho Grower Shippers Association as a board member and president.
He had many passions, including photography, boating on the Snake River, perfecting his yard, and entertaining friends and family at his famous palapa. A true landscape architect mastermind, he took pride in creating beautiful spaces. He and Tina were world travelers and made many friends along the way. He also loved spending time at his island home in Roatán, Honduras, where many of the friends he made became like family. Little did most people know, he also starred in a viral YouTube video that reached 7.5 million views.
He is survived by his children, Kristofer Dickson, Kelly (Monica) Dickson, Dean Gibson, Jeff (Miranda) Gibson, and Krissy Honeyman; 13 grandchildren; and his sister, Michelle Dickson.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Tina; his parents, Donald Franklin and Betty Rankin (Melrose) Dickson; his brother, Don Jr.; and his daughter-in-law, Renee.
He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He was a free spirit, the life of the party, and someone who made every place feel a little more alive.
Friends are welcome to join his family for a celebration of life on May 30, at 3:00 p.m. at Morey’s Steakhouse in Heyburn. In honor of Denny and his love for island life, guests are encouraged to wear their favorite island attire.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations, if desired, be made to the Island Academy of Roatán scholarship fund through D.L. Evans Bank.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
