Ferol Maurine Weeks Whittle

BURLEY – Ferol Maurine Weeks Whittle, a 101-year-old resident of Burley, Idaho, passed away at her home on March 27, 2026.

Maurine was born September 1, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Maurine married Jay Whittle on February 14, 1945, in the Salt Lake City Temple and they raised three children, Don, Ken, and Kris.

Maurine and Jay were married for 68 years and spent their married life in Burley. Maurine taught school for 34 years at Overland Elementary, Southwest Elementary and Mountain View Elementary schools. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She enjoyed teaching, playing the organ, family history and was chorister for many years. Her faith in the Lord was unwavering. She loved to be outdoors and her yard and flower beds were her pride and joy.

Maurine is survived by her two children, Kenneth Whittle and Kristine Herbert; three grandchildren, Holly (Scott) Bond of Idaho Falls, Jenger (Martin) Cole of Hillsboro, Oregon and Amy (Mike) Keller of Molino, Oregon; five great-grandchildren and ten great-great- grandchildren.

Maurine was preceded in death by her husband, Jay; her son, Don; and her brother, David Weeks.

The family would like to express gratitude for the caring staff of Pomerelle Place Assisted Living and Intermountain Healthcare.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, April 3, 2026, at Gem Memorial Gardens, located at 2435 Overland Ave., in Burley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
