Date of Service: Mar. 7, 2026
Robyn Melchin Creason, a beloved mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away on February 28, 2026, at the age of 73.
Born on May 1, 1952, in Raymond, Alberta, Canada, to Gerald and Evelyn Melchin, Robyn was the third of seven children. She grew up in Calgary, where she developed a lifelong love for sports and music. It was during her time visiting her parents, while they served as Mission Presidents in California, that she met her eternal companion, Nyle Ray Creason. They were married in June 1974 in the Los Angeles California Temple.
Robyn and Nyle raised four children—Jonathan, James, Jennifer, and Jocelyn—living in Calgary and Burbank before settling in Gilbert, Arizona, to raise their family. Robyn was a woman of deep faith and a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many leadership roles, including Ward and Stake Primary President, Relief Society President, and Young Women President.
Her greatest passion was music; an incredibly talented singer, she performed in musicals and operas, but she was best known for her moving performances in church. Her rendition of "O Holy Night" was a legendary "showstopper" that touched many souls. Robyn’s legacy of music and service lives on in her four children and 20 grandchildren.
Robyn spent her final years living near her children and continuing her life of daily devotion and service.
She is now reunited with her husband, Nyle, leaving behind a family who will forever remember her unconditional love and her radiant spirit.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Star 2nd Ward, located at 96 S. 200 W., of Burley, with Bishop Jesse Bradshaw officiating.
