Daniel Gene Korsen In Loving Memory

PAUL – Daniel Gene Korsen, an 82-year-old resident of Paul, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026, at his home.

Dan was born June 18, 1943, in Klamath Falls, Oregon. He spent his early years in Paul before moving to Boise for four years and then returning to Paul. It was there, while attending Minico High School, that he met the love of his life, Linda Lee Hawk. The two married in 1963 and went on to build a beautiful life together, raising three children.

Shortly after marrying, Dan and Linda opened Dan’s Tune Up & Repair, a business they proudly operated for more than 35 years. Dan was deeply committed to his community and gave his time generously through the Chamber of Commerce, the West End Fire Department, and the Rupert Elks.

An avid outdoorsman, Dan embraced every opportunity to be outside. He loved snowmobiling, rafting, and exploring the wilderness. He and Linda also cherished their time in Ketchum, Idaho, where they spent countless hours watching hockey, ice skating, enjoying family, and simply being best friends.

Dan was a devoted grandfather to his six grandchildren, Danielle, Jessica, Brad, Tianna, Hunter, and Ashlie; and a proud great-grandfather to Aydan and Ava.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Korsen; father, Aubry Jefferson “Jeff” Korsen; his mother, Evalyn Mary (Felton) Korsen; and his brothers, Jay Korsen and Bill Korsen.

Dan is survived by his brother, David Korsen; his sister, Beth Williams; and his children, Mark (wife, Jennie), Tony (wife, Myrna), and Jeff (wife, Amber).

Dan’s life was defined by hard work, deep love, and a spirit of adventure. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished and the community he served.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday, March 6, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, located at 802 F Street, in Rupert, with the Rev. Father Camilo Garcia as celebrant. Burial will follow at Paul Cemetery.
