Carol Woodworth Lesher

Jul. 30, 1942 - Jan. 30, 2025

Date of Service: Aug. 9, 2025

Carol Woodworth Lesher Carol Woodworth Lesher passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona after a prolonged battle with Alzheimer's Disease. Carol was born in American Falls, Idaho, the only daughter in a fourth-generation farming family that homesteaded in the area. She graduated from Burley High School before earning a degree from the University of Oregon and becoming a dental hygienist.

Carol met and married the love of her life, newspaper publisher Dean "Stan" Lesher II in Burley. Following their marriage in 1962, they relocated to Northern California where they raised two children. Carol served on the board of Lesher Newspapers Inc. and as an active volunteer at her children's schools and in the community. She also remained close to her native Idaho as part owner of some of her family's farming properties.

Carol was a woman of deep religious faith who loved going to church, reading her daily devotionals, and helping those less fortunate. Her other passions included travel, reading, and socializing with family and friends. Upon retirement and becoming empty-nesters, Carol and Stan moved to Scottsdale, Arizona where she lived the remainder of her life, relishing life in the warm desert and the visits of family and friends.

Known for her outgoing personality, bright smile, and easiness to laugh, Carol made fast friends wherever she went. A towering figure in the lives of her children and grandchildren, she was a pillar of grace, care, and good humor. Even as Alzheimer's began to rob her of her faculties and memories, she remained cheerful to the very end. Rarely without a smile, her sunny outlook had a positive impact on all who knew her, including those who cared for her in her final years.

Carol was preceded in death by her daughter, Kristine Lesher-Aring (Steve) of Clayton, CA; her brother, Charles Woodworth of American Falls, ID; and her parents, Austin and Imogene Woodworth also of American Falls. She is survived by her husband, Dean "Stan" Lesher II of Scottsdale, AZ; and her son, Stephen "Steve" Lesher (Mackenzie) of Walnut Creek, CA; her five grandchildren; her brothers, Gerald Woodworth (Mary-Ellen) of Rupert, ID, Pat Woodworth (Deborah) of Pocatello, ID; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews; and cousins.

A graveside service for Carol will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 9, at Pleasant View Cemetery, located at 1645 E. 16th St., in Burley.
