Peggy Jeanne Brown Lee BURLEY – Our beloved sister, aunt, and friend, Peggy Jeanne Brown Lee, age 77, passed away March 19, 2025, at Highland Estates in Burley.

Peggy or as the family called her “Jeanne” was born June 27, 1947, along with her twin brother, Jerry Dean, in Knox County, Missouri. They were born on their father’s birthday. They were the first twins born in Knox County, so were very famous. The local newspaper highlighted them each year on their birthdays. Peggy’s parents are John Elmer Brown and Mary Francis Thompson Brown. Five years later the family added another son Richard “Rick” Brown. In 1957 the family left Missouri and came to Idaho for a chance to win land with the Homestead Act Lottery. Although unsuccessful they decided not to return to Missouri.

Peggy always enjoyed visiting with people and was always very friendly wherever she worked. She graduated from Burley High School and Cosmetology School. She worked in different salons in Idaho and Nevada. Although never having her own children she was a devoted aunt. She loved living in Las Vegas and being able to walk across the street to the Gold Coast Casino to gamble. When she returned to Idaho, she would take her mother to Jackpot quite often. Peggy worked at Albertsons and Kings Department Store. Peggy loved cats and was able to have a furry companion “Princess” at Highland Estates. She enjoyed watching football and coloring with her friends. She had just learned how to do Diamond Dot Art.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Mary F. Windes and John Elmer Brown; stepfather, John S. Windes; and stepmother, Essie Marie Brown; and her niece, Christina Jean Brown; and her husbands, Larry Albrecht; Ron Moline; Jim Jury; and Mike Lee.

She is survived by her brothers, Jerry (Della) Brown, Rick (Kathie) Brown, all of Burley; her niece’s, Michelle (Raymond) Gutierrez; Kathy (LeRoy) LaFaunce, Melissa Season; Tiffany Brown; her nephew, B.J. Brown; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Many thanks to the staff and friends and Highland Estates for many years of kindness.

A graveside service with urn placement will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2025, at Gem Memorial Gardens, located at 2435 Overland Ave., in Burley.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
