Peg Marie
Presba
Dec. 29, 1952 - Jan. 9, 2025
OAKLEY – Peg Marie Presba, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, left this earth on January 9, 2025.
Peg was born December 29, 1952, in Placerville, California, to William and Audrey Butts. She met the love of her life, Bud Presba, as a family friend and later grew close to him in high school. They were married in Reno, Nevada, before buying their first home and welcoming their two children, Shiela and William, in California. Peg developed a variety of passions, including caring for children, collecting vintage fashion, writing books and history columns (for which she won several awards) and newspaper editing.
In 1995, she moved to Oakley, Idaho, after falling in love with the people on a visit to see friends. She quickly became an integral part of the community after opening Grandma’s Garden daycare center, prompting everyone to call her Grandma Peg. She then opened an art studio to share her joy of art with the local children. Generations of children have been touched by Grandma Peg. Her sense of adventure and love of life was contagious.
As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Peg served faithfully in many callings. Even throughout her battle with cancer, Peg served diligently as a service missionary for the church focusing on family history. Peg’s testimony of the church and her love of her Savior Jesus Christ was unshakeable.
Peg is survived by her husband, Bud Presba; her son, William Presba; and his sons, Christian, Riley, and Zachary; and her late daughter’s children, Annalisa, Megan and Riker Christensen.
In accordance with Peg’s wishes, no formal funeral services will be held.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home of Burley.
