BURLEY – Elmer (Jack) Mangum, a devoted husband, father, and friend, passed away at his home in Burley, Idaho, on Saturday, January 4, 2025, on his 86th birthday. Jack was a retired military veteran who served his country with honor and integrity, leaving a legacy of dedication and service.
Jack continued to give back to his community by driving a school bus for 30 years. His kindness, work ethic, and caring nature touched the lives of countless students and colleagues. Jack was deeply loved by all who knew him and will be remembered for his generosity, humor, and unwavering commitment to those around him.
Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; and 12 brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his four children, Deborah Witt, Kevin (Janet), Darin (Susie), and Kelly (Cindy); 16 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.
Jack’s life was a testament to hard work, love, and service. He will be greatly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of many.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 7, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - View 1st Ward, located at 490 E. 550 S., of Burley. Burial will follow at View Cemetery where military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.
Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, February 6, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th Street, in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, at the church.
