James "Jim" Earl Hitt DECLO – James “Jim” Earl Hitt, age 75, of Declo, passed away Saturday, October 19, 2024, at his home in Declo. He was born on September 14, 1949.

Jim served honorably in Vietnam from 1968 to 1969, a period that reflected his commitment to his country. He dedicated much of his time to his family, particularly in supporting his granddaughters with their projects, and enjoying time in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joline Bortz; his daughter, Jaime Hitt-Perkins (Keith); his granddaughters, Kaci Corbridge, Mckell Hitt (Blondie), McKinzee Hitt (Mac), and McKenna Hitt (Lil’ One); his great-grandchildren, Kaden, Zayden, Zaili, Caylus, Clarietie, and Caigan; one brother, Joe Hitt; and one sister, Judy Anderson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim “Pudd” Hitt; his mother, Doris Olson; his siblings, Janet, John, and Jill; his wife, Theresa Guzman; and one daughter, Karri John.

Jim will be remembered for his dedication to his family, quiet strength and resilience. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

We would like to thank Hospice Visions and Dr. Jessica Thibault and the oncology nurses for all of the care and support they gave to Jim.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 25, at the Declo Cemetery, located at 102 North Cemetery Road, in Declo, Idaho, where military rites will be provided by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Friday, prior to the graveside service, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley.
