DECLO – Gaylene Taylor Anderson, 73 of Declo, born March 17, 1951, in Burley, Idaho, to Keith and Evelyn Taylor, peacefully passed away on October, 18, 2024, at Ashley Manor in Kimberly, Idaho. She was the third of three children and a valued member of her family. Gaylene spent nearly all her life in Declo, Idaho.
Gaylene was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and a beloved member of her community and family.
Her hobbies included gardening, painting, drawing, sewing, cake decorating, spending time outside, and spending time with friends and family. Although, she worked several jobs throughout her life, her most cherished was driving bus for Cassia County Joint School District for over thirty years, which she retired from to enjoy her most treasured job of all, being a grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Lewis; and her son, Skyler (Nikki) Edwards; her brother, Richard Taylor; her grandchildren, Lashelle Bailey, Lyndsi (Nicholas) Bailey, Kelbee (Wyatt) Edwards, Jaiden Edwards, and Brennen Lewis; her great-grandchildren, Ava Bailey, Paizlee Cantu, Landon Lamb, and Oliver Cantu; as well as countless other family members.
She was welcomed in heaven by the loving arms of her parents, a brother, and other friends and family. She will be sorely missed by all who had the opportunity to know her.
Thank you to Ashley Manor in Kimberly for the care they gave our beloved Gaylene over the last week of her life. A very special thank you to Michelle Lewis who lovingly cared for her mother over the last few years of her life; as well as Skyler and Niki Edwards’ loving care over the last few months. Till we meet again.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 1, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – Declo Stake Center, located at 213 W. Main St., in Declo, with Bishop Marc D. Christensen officiating. The interment will follow at Declo Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received from 5 until 7 p.m. Wednesday, October 30, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Friday, November 1, at the church, prior to the service.
