RUPERT – Laura Twiss, loving mother, beloved Grammie, auntie, sister and friend, passed away surrounded by family on October 9, 2024, shortly after being diagnosed with cancer.

Laura was born in Klamath Falls, Oregon, to John Edward and Helen Elizabeth Lacey Bryngelson. She was the second of seven children. At age 15, her family moved to Rupert from Oregon to farm. Laura attended Minico High School and graduated in 1973. She married and had four children, Eric, Angie, Megan, and Kasey.

Laura lived a life of humility and love. Her love for her family was selfless, committed, and ever expanding. Laura developed many strong personal connections and made everyone feel like they were her priority. Laura’s house was a shelter from the storms of life. Nephews and nieces, brothers and sisters, friends and acquaintances spent time with her during the trials of life. Everyone gravitated to Laura who was always willing to listen, to share in the plans of others, to give a kind word, a hug, and a smile. In these times of connection, whether the situation was a celebration or a crisis, Mom made you feel welcome as you stepped through the door into a warm kitchen, a fresh pot of coffee, and a meal to share. Through a lifetime of work, humility, and compassion, she encouraged everyone to repair relationships and reclaim peace. She will forever be remembered for her gentle spirit and incomparable work ethic. Grammie loved nurturing her grandchildren and spending time outside tending to her flowers, checking on the cows in the pasture, and caring for her place.

Laura lived her faith every day. As a valued parishioner of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, she was a member of the Catholic Women, the St. Nicholas School Endowment Board, taught religious education classes, and volunteered to serve at many church gatherings and dinners. She enjoyed delivering Meals on Wheels and being a part of the Mini-Cassia Christmas Council. Laura had a passion for helping people through her position on the Board of Guardians for 19 years. Laura had a special gift of recognizing when people needed help and was always there whether she was asked or not. She always said yes to someone in need.

Laura worked for the Minidoka County School District, Kraft Foods and in the Minidoka County Treasurer’s Office. She worked for Minidoka County for 29 years holding the office of treasurer for 23 years where she developed lifelong friendships and served her community.

Laura is survived by her children, Eric (Kari) Twiss and Angie (Matthew) Adams both of Meridian, Megan (Derek) Noa of Boise, and Kasey (Heather) Twiss of Paul; grandchildren, Marisha, Ethan, Ryan, Patrick (Viviane Baji), Abby, Carter, Lily, Allie, Natalie, and Connor; her siblings, Sean Bryngelson of Paul, Marie (Dean) Tracy of Idaho Falls, Dana (Dennis) Dexter of Burley, and Lynn Bryngelson of Beaumont, Texas; and a sister-in-law, April Bryngelson of Rupert.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Helen; a sister, Lisa Bean; one brother, Mark Bryngelson; and a nephew, Aaron Bean.

The family would like to express sincere appreciation to St. Luke’s Meridian Medical Center and Keystone Hospice for the care they showed to our mom.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, October 18, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, located at 802 F Street, in Rupert, with the Reverend Father Camilo Garcia as celebrant. Urn placement will follow at Rupert Cemetery.

An evening vigil will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday, October 17, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, 1350 East 16th Street, in Burley, with the recitation of the Holy Rosary beginning at 6 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be directed to St. Nicholas Catholic School Angel Fund, Laura Twiss, P.O. Box 26, Rupert, ID 83350.
