Gilbert John Quinones In Loving Memory of Gil Quinones

Gil Quinones, born on September 3, 1935, in San Andreas, Calif., passed away on August 30, 2024, just a few days shy of his 89th birthday. Gil was the son of Rosario and Rosalie Quinones. He graduated from Calaveras High School and proudly served two terms in the United States Air Force.

Gil was known for his kindness, generosity, and unwavering spirit. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many, always ready with a warm smile and a helping hand. His wisdom, compassion, and humor touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

He was preceded in death by his son, Warren Quinones; his brother, Arthur Quinones; and his parents, Rosario and Rosalie Quinones.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn Quinones; and his sisters, Roz Foppiano and Darlene Sanders. He is also survived by their children, Natalie (Darrell) Kiesz, Rod (Lou) Quinones, Keith (Ellen) Austin, Sueanne (Tim ) Daley, and Marcus ( Brandy) Quinones.

Gil leaves behind a large and loving family, including his grandchildren: Katie Jay, Aimee Pennington, Emily Goddard, Matthew Kiesz, Michael Quinones, Zach Old, Angela Thompson, Cris Quinones, Nicole Bolanos, Maddie Quinones, Connor Daley, Cassidy Daley, Cameron Daley, Caitlin Daley, Kenneth Austin, Kaylen Austin Anderson, Sean Quinones, Madisyn Quinones, and Aiden Quinones, as well as 25 great-grandchildren.

Gil's legacy is one of love, strength, and resilience. He leaves behind cherished memories that will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who knew him.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, September 9, at Rupert Cemetery, 450 N. Meridian, Rupert, Idaho. Military rites will be performed by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Group.
