Marie Rose Price

Aug. 15, 1925 - Feb. 6, 2024

Date of Service: Feb. 13, 2024

Marie Rose Price Marie Rose (Giraud) Price, 98, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of February 6, 2024, at Pomerelle Place in Burley, Idaho.

She was born August 15, 1925, to Emile Antoine Seraphin and Maria Amelie (Lombard) Giraud. Marie had two brothers, Ernest Giraud and George Giraud; and one sister, Jeannie LaPore. Her parents immigrated to the United States from France. Marie was a resident of Heyburn, graduating from Rupert High School in 1943, and thereafter continuing her education by attending Cosmetology school at ISU. Marie attended the Catholic church her entire life.

On April 30, 1947, Marie married the love of her life, Eugene Price (Bub); together they had five children. They operated a farm and dairy for most of their lives. Marie loved her baby calves and going out morning and night year round to bottle feed them. Marie and Bub also enjoyed archery as well as square dancing and the many friends they met both locally and elsewhere by attending dances annually at Yellowstone and many other places. After retiring they found other interests in playing golf and being active in many pinochle and bridge groups. Marie also really loved her dogs and cats. It did not seem to matter how many were dropped off, she would take care of them all.

Marie is survived by one daughter, Rene’ (Roger) Quintana of Burley; three sons, Gary (Leanne) Price of Burley, Gene (Robin) Price of Heyburn, and Dan (Shauna) Price of Rupert; 15 grandchildren and 45 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Antonne and Maria; her brothers and sister; one daughter, Kathleen Price; and her husband, Eugene (Bub) Price.

We would like to thank Pomerelle Place and their staff for their compassionate care shown to our mother.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 13, at St. Therese the Little Flower Catholic Church, located at 1601 Overland Ave., in Burley, with the Rev. Father Eladio Vieyra as celebrant. Burial will follow at Rupert Cemetery.

A vigil will be held from 5 until 7 p.m. Monday, February 12, at Rasmussen-Wilson Funeral Home, located at 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with the recitation of the rosary beginning at 6 p.m.
