HEYBURN - Steven Wesley Doty, 63, of Heyburn, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014, at his home.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1950, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of Wesley Lee and Donna Maurine (Ostendorph) Doty. He received his education in Twin Falls and graduated from Twin Falls High School.

Steven was a proud Vietnam veteran and served honorably in the United States Navy for four years. He then transferred to the United States Army and served for 20 years in the National Guard. He loved this country and was proud to have served to protect our freedom.

Prior to his military service, he worked for the IGA Grocery Store in Twin Falls. Following his honorable discharge from the Navy, he began a 38-year employment career with Bonanza Motors in Burley. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping, and was an avid football fan. However, most important to Steve, was being a father and grandfather. He truly loved his sons and adored his grandchildren.

He is survived by his three sons, Jeremy E. Doty of Kuna, Steven M. Doty of Pocatello, and Chad W. Doty of Burley; six grandchildren, Jesse Doty, Krislyn Doty, Chance Doty, Rylee Albert, Kierra Doty, and Donnavan Doty; his mother, Donna May of Meridian; three siblings, Curtis Lee Doty (Rose), Kendall Maurice Doty (Shelley), and Shelley Renae Fleming (Al) all of Meridian; two stepbrothers, Roy Albert May Jr., and Jeffrey Alan Mae (Sandy); and a stepsister, Teresa M. Rebantad (Bob).

Steven was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Lee Doty; his stepmother, LuRain Doty; and his stepfather, Roy Albert May Sr.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley, with his brother, Pastor Kendall Doty officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.

Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, and from 1 until 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 26, at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, 10100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., in Boise.
