HEYBURN – Matthew Dale Miller, age 30, of Gig Harbor, Wash., and formerly of the Mini-Cassia area, died Monday, June 12, 2017, at St. Joseph Medical Center in Tacoma, Wash.

Matthew was born January 31, 1987, in Rupert, Idaho. He attended West Minico Junior High School and Minico High School, and later received his GED. He married Danielle Pozernick on August 5, 2008.

As a patriot of his country, Matthew served in the United States Army and was deployed for duty during the war in Iraq. A detonated explosive in Matthew’s proximity caused him a debilitating injury for the remainder of his life.

Matthew’s favorite activities in life included video games, fishing, crabbing, backpacking, camping, mushroom hunting and working with computers.

He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

He is survived by his seven-year-old son, Aiden Matthew Miller of Boise; his mother, Roxanna Miller; grandmother, Wanda Miller; and sisters, Amber Rose Miller of Burley and her children, Bryson, Rieker, and Wynter; Erica Kae (Erik) Bywater of Burley and their children, LaKree, JaKobe, and Kaederik.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Dale Edward Miller.

A private family service will be held at Riverside Cemetery in Heyburn, with Bishop Darby Hawkes officiating. Military honors will be performed by the Mini-Cassia Veterans Organization.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, June 22, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., in Burley.
